Evolution of Ellaism
Vitalik Buterin, a cryptocurrency pioneer put forth the concept of Ethereum (ETH) in 2013. On July 30th, 2015 the Ethereum blockchain was released. Around 72 million ETH were premined. All the coins in the genesis block (Block 0) represent more than half of all the coins in existence. This shows uncertainty of coin distribution and it also made the voting as a result of DAO hack distrustful. Although Ethereum has one of the largest community of developers and businesses supporting it, ETH has been criticized by many to be controlled by a few individuals, which raises questions about it being a decentralized currency. This has been debated amongst the people. The DAO hard fork led to a community split generating Ethereum Classic which is based on a strong principle “Code is law” and “transaction finalization”. It is thought to be censorship resistant along with a transparent monetary policy. But still it has the same problem of premine.
Another cryptocurrency somewhat similar to Ellaism is PIRL which has been promoted as “NO Premine” which means it has zero coins in the genesis block (Block 0). But it takes a dev fee of 8% from each block reward, and here lies the difference with Ellaism which has no dev fees.
Expanse which is purported to be the first stable fork of Ethereum was created as an affordable alternative for decentralized applications (DAPP) development. Compared to Ethereum and Ethereum Classic, its community is smaller. It has premine of 11.11 million coins in the genesis block, therefore can not be seen as truly decentralized.
Ellaism is a coin without premine and no developer fees, making it truly decentralized. The core team maintains its infrastructure based on donations and their own self-interest to grow this coin’s value in the long term.
